Finger weaving is weaving fibers without a loom, just with fingers. Finger weaving is one of Métis people’s most recognizable cultural symbols, and we used to make our ceinture fléchée (Métis sashes) using this technique.
Most of these finger-woven sash keychains were made by Paulette Champagne Kraichy, who is now teaching the technique to Shannon (artist behind Waabishki Miigwan Creations).
Anyone, Métis or non-Métis, can use these finger-woven sash keychains.
• lengths range from 10” (long rainbow), 8” (yellow, red + green, and brown), to 5-6”
Combo Deal: just add finger-woven sash earrings and a finger-woven sash keychain to cart, and get an automatically $5 discount on the set.
